VIUM / MERCHANTS LEADS 1ST HALF HUD HEALTHCARE RANKINGS

Columbus, OH - May 12, 2022:

Merchants Capital, through its joint-venture partnership with seniors housing and healthcare financier VIUM Capital ("VIUM"), is the nation's leading HUD healthcare lender through six months of HUD's fiscal year 2022. The firm closed 26 HUD healthcare (LEAN) loans totaling approximately $295 million in financing from October 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022, leading the nation in both number of closed transactions and total volume.

"We closed a flurry of 232/223f and 232/223a7 refinance loans to finish out a strong calendar year 2021 and surge into 2022," shared Scott Blount, a Senior Managing Director in VIUM's Austin, Texas office. "The financings consisted of portfolios and single site transactions in multiple states throughout the country."

The loans were closed under Merchants Capital, as VIUM did not officially close on its acquisition of HUD/GNMA lender Armstrong Mortgage Company until the end of 2021. VIUM bolstered its underwriting leadership on January 1, 2022 when it hired Alison Lemle as its new Chief Underwriter. Lemle, located at VIUM's headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, brings 15 years of HUD healthcare underwriting experience and previously worked with the firm's principals.

This is not the first time VIUM's principals have been at the top of the HUD healthcare rankings. The team helped lead their prior firm's rise to the number one HUD LEAN lender position for the first decade of the LEAN program, which commenced in 2008. The principals ultimately exited that company following a sale in order to launch VIUM.
