STEVEN W. KENNEDY, JR.
EXECUTIVE MANAGING DIRECTOR
Steve is a principal in VIUM Capital co-managing the firm’s strategic direction in providing capital funding for the seniors housing and healthcare sectors.
Prior to founding VIUM Capital, Steve spent 18 years at Lancaster Pollard as an investment banker and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. As Senior Managing Director, he led the firm’s production in the central United States, overseeing a team of eight bankers. He also managed the firm’s relationship with leaders in Washington, DC. Steve originated and managed seniors housing and healthcare transactions totaling over $2.5 billion.
A 40 Under 40 Honoree (2020; Columbus Business First), he is the former Board Chair (2017-2020) of Cristo Rey Columbus High School and serves on the school’s Finance Committee (2014-Current). His wife, Catherine, and he also support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, where she is a Board member (2018-Current).
Steve has a degree in both economics and political science from Denison University and an MBA from The Ohio State University.
KASSEM K. MATT
EXECUTIVE MANAGING DIRECTOR
Kass is a principal in VIUM Capital co-managing the firm’s strategic direction in providing capital funding for the seniors housing and healthcare sectors.
Prior to founding VIUM Capital, Kass spent 14 years at Lancaster Pollard including the last five years as President. He was instrumental in establishing the firm as a leading FHA LEAN lender for the past decade. Before his time as president, Kass served as an investment banker and regional manager for the firm and managed transactions in excess of $2.5 billion. He has 25+ years of experience in capital markets and corporate banking.
A graduate of Leadership Columbus, he is the current President & Board Chair (2018-Current) of New Albany Lacrosse Association (Board member since 2014), a current Board member of HearAide, and a former Board member of Wesley Communities (2017-2022). He and his wife, Iman, are supporters of various organizations in Columbus and Toledo, Ohio.
Kass has a degree in finance from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Cleveland State University.


CHRIS BLANDA
SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR
Chris is a Senior Managing Director with VIUM Capital responsible for business relationships in the Midwest and Southeast.
Prior to joining VIUM Capital, Chris spent 10+ years at Lancaster Pollard, eventually originating and structuring a wide variety of capital solutions for seniors housing and long-term care sponsors, owners and operators based in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Missouri. Chris was consistently in the top tier of production and takes pride in structuring creative and effective solutions for his client’s capital needs. He has successfully closed more than $2 billion in transactions in the seniors housing and long-term care sectors over the course of his career.
He and his wife, Sarah, are active supporters of the Center for Balanced Living (2017-Present), among other organizations in Columbus, Ohio.
Chris has a degree in finance from The University of Dayton and an MBA with a concentration in corporate finance from The Ohio State University.
SCOTT BLOUNT
SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR
Scott is a Senior Managing Director with VIUM Capital overseeing business relationships in the South Central and Southeastern states for the seniors housing and healthcare sectors.
Prior to joining VIUM Capital, Scott spent 10+ years at Lancaster Pollard as an investment banker, managing business relationships with sponsors, owners and operators based in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Scott has closed more than $2 billion in transactions in the seniors housing and healthcare sectors over the course of his career.
He and his wife, Sunny, are participants and supporters of the Flatwater Foundation (2015-Current). Scott was also a volunteer coach for the University of Texas Women’s Soccer team (2012-2014; 2016-2022).
Scott is a CFA Charterholder and has a bachelor’s degree in economics/business administration from Furman University, a JD from The University of Tennessee College of Law, and an MBA from SMU Cox School of Business.


BRENDAN M. HEALY
SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR
Brendan is a Senior Managing Director with VIUM Capital overseeing business relationships in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic for the seniors housing and healthcare sectors.
Prior to joining VIUM Capital, Brendan spent 10+ years at Lancaster Pollard as an investment banker, managing business development with sponsors, owners and operators based in Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. Brendan was one of the firm’s top revenue producers for four consecutive years before departing Lancaster Pollard, and has managed more than $2.5 billion in transactions in the seniors housing and healthcare sectors over the course of his career.
A 40 Under 40 Honoree (2023; Columbus Business First), he is a Board member of the Mid-Ohio Food Collective (2022–Current), where he serves on the Finance Committee (2018-Current) and his wife, Georgina, serves on the Development Committee (2018-Current). They also support many other organizations in Columbus, including Cristo Rey Columbus High School and Local Matters.
Brendan is an Ohio licensed attorney, retired professional lacrosse player, and has a degree in finance/marketing from the University of Maryland and a JD from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
TONY RUBERG
SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR
Tony is a Senior Managing Director with VIUM Capital responsible for business relationships in the Northeast and Florida for the seniors housing and healthcare sectors.
Prior to joining VIUM Capital, Tony spent a year leading the Seniors Housing and Healthcare team at Arbor Realty Trust and four years at Lancaster Pollard, where he worked with sponsors, owners and operators based in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. During the nearly 20 years he has spent in finance and banking, Tony has managed nearly $2.5 billion in debt transactions and also assisted in the launch of a commodities trading desk at a large, Midwest-based bank.
He and his wife, Tara, are active supporters of Best Foot Forward (2020 – Current), a non-profit in Boca Raton, Florida helping foster children maximize their potential by providing essential academic support and guidance.
Tony has a degree in economics from Capital University and an MBA with concentrations in finance and strategy from The Ohio State University.
